About the product

This set of worksheets was designed to help teach part of the GGB4 Global Change unit at A2 level on the AQA (B) syllabus.  However, it covers many elements of other syllabus also.

The worksheets begin with a self assessment exercise where the students keep returning to once they have completed each section.  They must then colour the target box according to how confident they are at each topic.  Following on from this there are some example past paper questions on the topic of tectonics.

The next worksheet provides detailed notes on the theory of plate tectonics including Alfred Wegener and his theory of continental drift.

Following on from this the students are required to complete worksheets relating to the biological and geological evidence of continental drift.  The process of sea floor spreading is next on the agenda.

The next task requires the students to develop their knowledge of the structure of the earth by completing a cross section from text.  A copy of the text book Geog dot 1 is handy here but not essential.

The tasks conclude with the students looking at how plates actually move and recapping on each of the above.
